Basalt
Steve Drain Monday 16th April 2012, 7:45pm
Basalt is an addon to BASIC that, unlike other sets of library routines, directly adds extra keywords that can be used just like the normal ones. It works with any version of BASIC V and does not require any special installation. Steve Drain has been developing Basalt for many years and recently released a new version that has been completely re-written and greatly extended. This is still an alpha test release so Steve is looking for comments and suggestions. Steve will be talking about how and why he developed Basalt and demonstrating its features. He will show how, when combined with the Toolbox, it greatly simplifies the development of desktop applications. Several example programs can be downloaded from his website including HongKong, a full version of the Mahjong patience game Shanghai. If time allows we may also look at some of Steve's other programs too. Let us know if there is anything you particularly want to see covered.
